Qantas pilots take off with tablets

Qantas boosts productivity and cuts costs while keeping pilots better connected and informed.

Qantas pilots take off with tablets

Qantas pilots have replaced reams of paper documentation, thanks to a digital transformation. The airline has provided 2000 pilots tablet devices that can log in-flight data. The tablets are connected to the Qantas corporate environment using Telstra’s Next G network in Australia and the iPass Global Roaming network around the world. The project saves the airline $1.5 million annually, reduces printing by 150,000 pages and enables pilots to stay in touch with family and friends all over the globe.

Our crew now have a piece of equipment that connects them back to the Qantas environment and to their own personal lives as well. It is very leading edge in this industry.
